Aloha, friends, family, and community,
As a yoga teacher specializing in trauma-informed practices, I've had the profound honor of working with veterans, and it has deepened my belief in yoga's incredible power to heal the mind and body. It's truly a privilege to witness the transformative effect of these practices firsthand—seeing veterans learn to breathe through anxiety, reconnect with loved ones, and find peace.
This is why I'm so passionate about Veterans Gratitude Week, a national movement hosted by the Veterans Yoga Project. This week is about more than just raising funds; it's about putting gratitude into action to support those who have served our country. Every dollar raised helps provide free yoga and mindfulness classes to thousands of veterans, train more teachers, and expand programs for military families. It's a lifeline for so many, and your support makes it all possible. None of the proceeds go towards myself or any other contributing, volunteer yoga teachers.
Every single contribution, no matter how small, makes a real difference.
This year, Yoga Flow States and I am honored to be hosting a special donation-based Restorative/Yin Yoga class to contribute to this cause. I invite you to join me for a gentle and healing practice designed to help you connect with your inner peace while giving back to our veterans.
About the Class
This online class is designed to meet you where you are. We will explore holding poses for 3–7 minutes, with options to choose between a gentle, restorative approach or a more active, challenging yin approach. We will focus on using breath to promote deep relaxation and healing. All levels are welcome, and you'll be encouraged to explore what serves you best on that day.
What to Bring to Class
You're encouraged to use props to support your body. Please gather a few items before class. You can use yoga props or comfortable items you have at home, such as:
A few pillows or blankets
A bolster or a large, sturdy pillow
Blocks or a couple of thick, sturdy books for support

Your participation is a powerful way to show thanks, but I know not everyone can make it. If you're unable to join the class, you can still be a vital part of this movement by making a donation directly to the Veterans Yoga Project. Just a simple donation of $1, $5, or $10 helps us bring gratitude into motion and continue offering the healing practices our veterans need and deserve.
Let's turn gratitude into impact, together.
With loving-kindness,
Mia B.
P.S. Please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who might be interested in supporting this incredible cause!
